When accessing our Website, World Vision Ireland will learn certain information about you during your visit. We use Google Analytics to help analyse how users use the site. The tool uses cookies to collect standard Internet log information and visitor behaviour information in an anonymous form. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website (including IP address) is transmitted to Google. This information is then used to evaluate visitors’ use of the website and to compile statistical reports on website activity for World Vision Ireland.

What Are Cookies?

A cookie is a very small text document, which often includes an anonymous unique identifier. When you visit a Web site, that site’s computer asks your computer for permission to store this file in a part of your hard drive specifically designated for cookies. Each Web site can send its own cookie to your browser if your browser’s preferences allow it, but (to protect your privacy) your browser only permits a Web site to access the cookies it has already sent to you, not the cookies sent to you by other sites.
We use cookies to give you the best possible online experience. If you use our website, we'll assume that you are happy for your web browser to receive all cookies from our website.

IP Addresses

IP addresses are used by your computer every time you are connected to the Internet. Your IP address is a number that is used by computers on the network to identify your computer. IP addresses are automatically collected by our web server as part of demographic and profile data known as “traffic data” so that data (such as the Web pages you request) can be sent to you.

Information collected

World Vision Ireland collects details provided by you for the purposes of making a donation, creating a Direct Debit donation, signing up for information / newsletters, or sponsoring someone that is fundraising on our behalf. We record the contact and transactional details on a database in order to manage our supporter relationships.

World Vision and Data Processor

World Vision will engage certain service providers to perform certain services on its behalf which may involve the Processing of Personal Data, for example third parties that assist with distribution of World Vision newsletters and emails. To the extent that such Processing is undertaken based on the instructions of World Vision and gives rise to a Data Controller and Data Processor relationship, World Vision will ensure that such relationship is governed by a contract which includes the data protection provisions prescribed by Data Protection Law.
